The customer's existing garage featured a traditional tan long-raised raised panel steel sectional door with Sherwood window inserts, which was visibly aging and no longer aligned with the homeowner’s aesthetic goals.

The homeowner aimed to refresh their garage’s look with a door that mimicked the natural beauty of wood while requiring less upkeep. They desired a faux or fake wood garage door with a modern design that could blend seamlessly with their home’s exterior. Additionally, they sought to upgrade the operating system for enhanced functionality and reliability.

Our Solution

To fulfill the homeowner's design and functional requirements, we installed model 2327 from CHI, an attractive walnut-toned steel sectional door in the modern Planks panel design. This faux or fake wood garage door offers the rustic appeal of wood with steel's durability and low maintenance benefits. We chose polystyrene as the insulation material to improve the door’s energy efficiency. To complement this new installation, we upgraded the operating system to the LiftMaster 98022, a side-mounted jackshaft system known for its space-saving design and superior performance.
