The Challenge
The primary challenge was replacing these deteriorating wood doors with something that not only modernized the look of the home but also improved functionality. Additionally, the homeowner required a custom installation due to the garage’s low headroom, which limited space for traditional setups. The project also called for a solution to address uneven flooring beneath the doors.
Our Solution
To solve these issues, we installed faux wood garage doors in a Driftwood Plank steel design with a durable steel back. The wood-like finish provided the rustic appeal the homeowner desired while being a low-maintenance, weather-resistant option that modernized the home’s exterior. The new doors were installed without windows for a sleek look and came with a custom low headroom track system, perfect for the limited overhead space in the garage.
We addressed the uneven flooring issue by using extra-wide weatherstripping to ensure a perfect seal, helping to keep the garage properly insulated and protected from the elements. To match the new aesthetic, we installed a matching doorstop that complemented the faux wood finish.
For convenience and improved garage door performance, we upgraded the operating system to the LiftMaster 87504 belt drive opener. This advanced system features 360-degree LED lighting, providing ample illumination, and a built-in WiFi camera for added security and remote monitoring, offering the homeowner peace of mind with the latest technology.
