The City of Dana Point, Orange County, California
Dana Point is always one of our favorite cities to fix garage doors and gates because of the coastal climate. There is never a bad weather day, and we love spending time close to the beach! Over the years, we have had the opportunity to work for many apartments and homeowner associations, repairing their garage doors, community gates, and parking garage gates. For example, we’ve been working with Doheny State Beach for years and recently repaired equipment on the lifeguard building when their torsion springs broke. This location is fun to work at because the garage opens right up onto the sand so that the lifeguards and police can rush out to help in an emergency!
Over the years, we’ve also repaired the automatic gate keypads and barrier arms for the Dana Point Marina. Taking our break stops at the Dana Point Harbor is a great way to rest and refresh! One of our favorite places for our team to have a business meeting is at Coffee Importers, along with an iced coffee and egg and cheese bagel. Dana Point is also a very festive place to be during December. It has many great photo opportunities with holiday lights and displays.
Unfortunately, the Pilgrim brig sunk a few years back, but that ship was always a wonderful sight to visit. Many of our staff who grew up in the area spent the night on that boat during the 5th grade. We were taught all about the life of R.H. Dana and read the book Two Years Before the Mast, for whom the city of Dana Point is named. We had the chance to learn what it was like to be a rigger, cook, and several other roles on those ships hundreds of years ago. One fun fact is that the indigenous Californias used to throw the animal skins over the cliffs down to the beach to trade with the sailors. There are some beautiful statues in Dana Point, one of which is the Hide Drogher and another of RH Dana himself.
Capistrano Beach
Although some locals may argue that this area is a city unto itself, Capistrano Beach, or Capo Beach as many people refer to it, is technically part of the city of Dana Point. Capistrano beach consists of beautiful houses right on the cliffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean and oceanfront luxury homes where you can walk out directly on the sand. It borders Capistrano Beach Park Doheny Beach, arguably one of the best places to learn to surf in South Orange County!
